TRIP OVERVIEW

The Sonamarg-Vishansar-Naranag trip, sometimes referred to as the Great Lakes Trek or the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek in the trade, is a high-altitude, alpine Himalayan trip that begins in the Kashmir Valley of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The most well-known trek in Kashmir is this one. In terms of topography and path difficulties, the journey is classed as moderate-difficult and is often finished in 6-7 days. With fresh views of alpine lakes, mountain peaks, passes, meadows, and glaciers practically daily, the walk is an incredible delight and well worth the effort.

Although the trek can begin from either Sonamarg or Naranag, it is usually thought to be simpler to begin from Sonamarg. If one begins in Sonmargh, they establish a base camp at Table Top, also known as "Shaukdari." From the automobile drop-off location, it's a 6-7 hour hike. The area is suitable for a base camp because it's home to the Gujjar-Bakarwal community and has an abundance of firewood.

The second day involves a strenuous hike over the Nichnai Pass to the Vishansar-Kishansar twin lakes. There's a chance that the bsnl network will provide mobile network coverage at the pass.
